Anshe Emet Synagogue
Anshe Emet Synagogue is a Conservative egalitarian community that is celebrating its 133rd year in Chicago. It is a community made up of many groups whose participants have different needs. The goal of the congregation is to meet the religious, social, cultural and recreational needs of each group through services, programs and events especially tailored for its participants. These goals are achieved by expanding on the solid foundation built by our dynamic and talented clergy, Rabbis Michael Siegel, Elliot Cosgrove, Daniel Cotzin Burg, Hazzan Alberto Mizrahi and Ritual Director Debby Lewis.
The synagogue has a strong, active Young Adult Division (twenties and thirties) that meets on the first and fifth Friday evenings of each month for services and dinner. Every third Friday of the month is Anshe Emet Live, a musical celebration of Shabbat that draws people from all over Chicago! Members of our Young Adult Division read Torah and Haftorah, work with our Social Action Committee, take Adult Education classes and serve on various committees and our Board of Trustees. You’ll find them helping with our Purim Carnival and celebrating together at other Kehilla programs.
